When Jacob awoke from his dream, having seen angles ascending and descending, he “was afraid and said, 'How awesome is this place!  This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!'” (Gen28)  The apostle Paul says that we, the body of Messiah, have “been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone… in whom (we) also are being built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.” (Eph 3)

Are we seeing “the gate of heaven” opened over our “habitation of God”?  Are we awakening from our dream, to realize that “surely God is in this place, and we did not know it”?  Let us contend together for the fullness of God in our midst, the very thing for which “all creation is groaning” (Rom 8); let us endeavor to “come up here”, even as we cry for the Lord to “rend the heavens” and come down here! (Is 64)
