Shalom!  We are John and Una Gere, serving the Lord in exotic locations around the world since 1986.  We met in California (John’s home) in 1979, married and lived in Ireland (Una’s home) for seven years, and were then dramatically propelled to Hawaii, where we met the Lord !  We’ve been following Him ever since.

In 1992 came the call to the “field”, and we trained with YWAM, and traveled further into the Pacific, to help build (literally) and establish a YWAM campus in the “Kingdom of Tonga”.  After a year plus there, and in Fiji, we were called to the western Pacific, to Micronesia, to a tiny island nation called “Yap”.  There we lived and served for five years, until the Holy Spirit broke in, changed our home fellowship into a thriving, indigenous church, and told us that our season there had ended.  To our great surprise, the next stop was to be - Israel!

We have now been in Israel, in Jerusalem, since 1998.  The Lord has established us in His Isaiah 62:6-7 calling; “ I have set watchmen on your walls , O Jerusalem, who will not keep silent….until He (the Lord) makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth”.  (Jerusalem WILL of course be THE praise of the earth, when Jesus comes to be enthroned there, as King over all the earth!)

We live just outside the wall of the “Old City”, in the historic “City of David”, and often lead prayer tours there, around the Old City, and on to the Temple Mount.  We are founding members of a public, corporate worship and prayer ministry, which has now grown to be 24/7 days-a-week; called “Succat Hallel’, (which means “Tabernacle of Praise” see their website link on our links page)

We are proud of our two sons, both married and living in Ireland, and of our 5 ½ grandchildren!
